Debut Post

If you find my name a little familiar, then you must have had once visited my domain, Mizu-Kioku.net. The domain is currently down due to some problems with the ever slow 1uhost.com. I think I should be posting here till the domain comes back...soon...I hope because I'm really bad at using Blogger. Not going to bother myself with the layout because

  1. I'm too lazy to do so.
  2. I hope to move back to my domain.

Anyway, today's post would be on the quality of taxi drivers in Singapore...specifically taxi drivers under the company City Cab, Comfort and Silvercab.

City Cab
Hmm, how do I even begin this...I don't usually take City Cab because I usually employ the services of Comfort to drive me from places to places. However, for some weird reason or other, I always get pissed off by City Cab drivers. These City Cab(CC) drivers seem to know nuts about the Singapore road system. Everytime, I enter the cab, out of courtesy, the driver would ask for my preference of route. As I am a 100% road idiot, I would say 'anything'. Little did I know that these taxi drivers were also like me, 200% road idiots. Somehow or rather, they would either end up taking me on a longer route or drop me off at the wrong destination. Take for example yesterday.

Morning
The CC taxi driver drove into my neighbourhood to pick me up but somehow got a temporary memory lost and was driving in circles in the neighbourhood's carpark! I seriously think that this is one of his tatics to earn more money by wasting time. So, I did what I usually do. I used this you-better-give-me-a-discount-or-you-die tone to ask him why was he still lost in the freaking-small-and-easy-to-navigate carpark. He gave me this stupid answer because he was lost...WTF! Anyway, he gave me a measly $0.50 discount.

Afternoon
Once again, I got into a CC cab. I told the driver to drive me to Street 31 but somehow, he managed to drive me to Street 11. When he reached Street 11, I questioned him why I was driven here. He insisted that I said 11. Can't he lie better? 11 and 31 sounds so different and would I get my address wrong? So, I argued that I said 31. Therefore, he gave me a $2 discount.

Comfort
One thing I like about Comfort is that they have this cool booking service where they remember your pick-up location so that you don't have to repeat it over and over again. However, one disadvantage is that they only remember one address so if you want a cab other than that location...you got to talk to the operator. Since Comfort is so popular among Singaporeans, two out of five times, I never manage to get a cab...
There was this one time when they said I had to wait 5-7 minutes for a cab so I waited. However, after 15 minutes, no cab could be sighted. So, I called to complain. Surprisingly, the operator told me that the taxi came but since I did not show up, he left! WTF!! I was standing at the waiting point while I called and I hawking over the place for the whole 15 minutes. There only can be 2 explanations. One, the cab was invisible that's why I did not see it. Second, the lousy taxi driver did not even appear. I guess anyone with a logical mind would pick the second choice.

Silvercab
The reason why I took Silvercab was because I could not get a Comfort cab. Silvercab was quite nice but their telephone service sucked because it was all manual.

Moving away from these three cab companies, I took a taxi that I forgot to take note of the company today. Some other cars cut our lane so the cab jerked. Instead of apologising for that shock experienced to me first, he uttered 'Bloody Hell'. The apology never came. Then, later, he had to turn up the radio volume so freaking high until the volume could burst a balloon but he acted like no one's business. To make things worse, he was READING A NEWSPAPER WHILE DRIVING THE CAB!!!! WTF!!! Hasn't he heard of safety...?!

Anyway, I think I'll end here as I have typed till my fingers are on the verge of breaking...so...till next time.
