Smokers please die

Had this oral communication thingy for test today. Basically all we had to do was pose as an interviewee and answer the questions asked. Mine was quite ok and the teachers said that my keigo was quite good. :D Only problem is that...I dont actually remember using keigo. Haha.

Since I have a JS talk at 1pm, I decided to hang around in school first. I chose to sit outside LT11. Everything was fine except for the hot weather when all a sudden this girl/lady/woman/it sat at my table. She decided that she really needed to smoke so she went off to cloud her lungs. However, she smoked at a place so near to my bench that I can even smell her smoke. FUCK. I dont understand these idiotic, irritating, shitty, fuckhead smokers who like to smoke at places where there are people around. I dont mind if they hole up in their rooms and smoke their pants off but I really hate it when they smoke in public where they are a threatening menace to the society...eg. second hand smoke.

NUS is supposed to be a smoke-free campus but SO? I still smell cigarette smoke everytime I walk along the walkway from the Deck to Central Library. Smokers hide underneath the walkway to smoke and it's common knowledge. So how come no one's doing anything about this?

Smokers who like to show everyone that they smoke should just drop dead and die immediately. Those who dont will just, well, die eventually.

JAC Presentation

Today during Japanese lecture, we had these two guest lecturers from JAC to give us a speech on working in Japanese companies. Since most of the people in my lecture group are year 3 and 4 people, I guess this guest lecture would be extremely applicable to them. However, for a year 1 like me, I cant say the same thing but the lecture was indeed useful in knowing more about the conditions of working in Japanese companies.

Anyway, I was the emcee for this guest lecture today and to tell the truth, there wasnt really a need for an emcee la! The guy was already about to start his presentation when my teacher stopped him saying that we had an emcee...so paiseh can! I mean, if the guy is already about to start the presentation, just let him carry on lo...it was very weird to stop him so that I can do the opening.

Surprisingly, I didnt feel nervous at all while talking in front of my lecture group. Normally when I have to do public speaking, my heart will beat at a rate of 2000 beats per minute(obviously exaggerating here) and whatever that comes out of my mouth will be projected at a speed of 1000km/h. Like that time when I had to do this idiotic yet compulsory public speaking in front of my cohort in Secondary 1, I totally freaked out and I dont think that anyone understood my ramblings. However, this time, my heart was still at the same rate when I started speaking and I managed to speak at a normal rate...hmm, have I become more bold after entering NUS? ................................

Like real la! I was just speaking to a group of 40 people lo, and I know most of them from tutorials. Then again, I used to do CME presentations in front of my secondary class but I still felt damn nervous that time. Probably I'm more comfortable in public speaking in Japanese? Maybe it's because if I say something wrong, I can attribute it to my lousy command of the language, but if I say something wrong in English, I guess I cant really do that. Ok, not speaking sense here.

Next lesson was JS1101E tutorial and to tell the truth, I was really apprehensive of attending tutorial because of last week. Somehow or rather, more than 1/2 of my class decided to talk while the tutor was talking and despite him telling them to feel free to leave the room, they still continued yakking away. So, my tutor got so pissed off that he didnt even make a sound for that whole tutorial. Some buggers still had the cheek to say that they wasted their 1 hr because he didnt teach anything. It's totally their fault la...insensitive, stupid people like them should be executed to make the world a better place.

Somemore, the email we sent for advice regarding out project, the tutor replied with quite a bit of advice. However at the end, he ended saying that we can feel free to not heed his advice like most of the people in my tutorial group. Doesnt he sound super-duper pissed here?! How could I not feel scared to attend his tutorial...?! However, today he was fine already but he actually gave a choice to continuing discussing in small groups or discuss with him as a class. I guess maybe he's still a little sore?

Went for Korean class and knew about this new Lotte Mart opposite Beauty World. Woohoo, can go buy Korean food somewhere that's not too far from home! Somemore my father can drive me there....lalala :D Hmmm, or maybe Kym can drive me there! Congrats on getting your driving license!!! :D

No title

Went back to work yesterday to relief 2 classes. As much as I dont really like to relief classes, I was kind of happy to go back to work. Call me crazy or something, but I kind of like going back to work actually now, as compared to attending school.

School just sucks the fun out of my life, seriously. One thing I dont like about university is that every sem, you get to change modules....which means that every sem, your classmates change and I hate making new friends...for the sake of doing projects. Another thing is since your classmates change every sem, there is no one person that will be by your side such that you can bitch about other people, without worries. Haha, ok, I kind of like bitching, I must admit...so yup, life without bitching is seriously boring.

However at work, there will always be bitching...no matter what. Doesnt that make work all the more fun? Ok, I know that I've been complaining about since I started work last year in December but now that I look back, I realise that it's all the small nitty-gritty details that actually make work fun. All that disliking someone actually injects some sort of fun into work. Maybe it's because I didnt really dislike those people I initially said I dont like. Ok, I know I'm making no sense here since I dont even understand what I'm writing...but please bear with me. :D

Been going back to work for the past 2 weeks but only for 2 days and it was kind of fun going back to work...especially when you get to say "It has been a fucking tiring day!"
If I didnt go back to work, all I would have had done on that day would be just lying around in the house surfing the net, watching TV and sleeping....like what I'm doing now, which is kind of mind-dulling and I hate myself for doing this.
Then again, my mum isnt too happy with me going back to work as she says that it'll affect my studies and that I should spend more time concentrating on my work, thus, she made me quit. However, besides the wanting me to quit part, I cant see how she's concerned about my studies.

She's freaking concerned about my sis who is in Canada right now and keeps telling me to ask her for her pictures there and how's she doing and whatsoever. Seriously, I'm kind of sick being the messenger. I mean, I dont mind chatting with my sis on MSN but I'm really fucking sick of helping them pass messages because they dont like to give definite answers. Do you know how many fucking times I've asked the same questions regarding my sister's return to Singapore for the hols? It kind of gets on my nerves though.

I hate it when my mum threatens to terminate my allowance if I go back to work. I hate it when my mum goes on the "you ask me for money can but when I ask you to do things cannot...next time go get money from your father" topic. I hate it when my family goes out for dinner together but can only da-bao food back because my mum is in a rush to go out with her friends. I hate it when other people get to go shopping with their mum while my mum just gives me money and ask me go shopping by myself. I hate it when I ask my mum if she wants to eat together and she replies me saying that she'll give me money and I go eat by myself in the restaurant. What's so fucking interesting about eating by yourself? It seems that my relationship with my mum hangs on the topic, money, only. It's freaking sad.

I know that most people think that I'm lucky that my mum gives me money and dont really set a curfew time for me but I dont really think so. My mum doesnt even seem remotely interested in my life. I envy those people with mums that you can complain to about the happenings in their life and their mums will talk to them about how to solve the problems that they meet in life. My mum just keeps quiet when I talk to her...and I seriously wonder if she's listening or not. Car rides with my mum is just so painfully quiet. It's so bad that all I do in the car is sleep when I get on and wake up in time to get off....

My grandma is the kind that if you say that lian yong bau is delicious, she'll always buy lian yong bau for you consecutively every day, without you asking her to do so. To tell the truth, I might get a little sick of eating lian yong bau everyday but I'm happy to eat it because it's the thought of buying food that I like that makes me happy. On the other hand, my mum doesnt do that. Whenever she asks what I want to eat and whenever I answer "anything", my usual answer, she'll ask "What's anything? Say properly." It seems like she doesnt really know what I like to eat. :(

Update on My Life

I'm in school now using my MAC laptop to post here. Seriously, can anyone give me a crash course on how to use MAC to create websites? I tried to type HTML but apparently it didnt work. Next, even Blogger.com doesn't load properly on MAC! So basically, there is no way for me to change the big ugly default font that Blogger.com has till I reach home...:(

Anyway, finally handed in my JS2228 project today...whew! A load off my mind :D The past few days were really taxing for me as I had to do the collation for the project, not to mention finding resources to write the paper. Cant say that the paper was wonderfully written but whatever la...as long as handed in some 20+ pages to the lecturer...If cant score in quality, probably can score in quantity? Hee, who am I kidding here?

Met with difficulties while doing this project and had many sleepless nights(actually it was only 2) pondering over how to write the paper properly. Thanks to Donna for listening to my mindless rants while I was doing the project...haha, my offer of eliminating your project mates for you still stand by the way. Haha.

With the JS2228 project down, the next horror would be the JS1101E paper. Kill me please. I cant wait for this semester to be over. Then again, I dont really want to go through the end-of-sem examinations because I think I'm still blur about most of the stuff I've leant, or have I learnt anything at all, over the sem.

On to happier news, I got selected for the Hiroshima Homestay Programme so ya, I'll be away in Japan for the bulk of the December holidays. I seriously cant believe that I got selected for this. Actually, I didnt make it when they first selected those who were able to go but since someone dropped out, thanks!, the chance was given to me. The sucky thing is that I got to purchase my own airplane and train tickets...I prefer leaving the difficult stuff to others. Hee. Did I also mention that the last day in Hiroshima is optional such that you can choose to stay in the hotel, at your own expense, or return to Singapore? What kind of school trip is this?!

So ya, I will be in Hiroshima from 11 to 18 Dec then afterwards from 22-28 Dec, I'll be in Tokyo, Kyoto and many other places. Currently taking orders from those who want me to buy stuff back from them :D

Talking about Japan, my Japanese language module actually have a field trip! Man, I thought that only happened in primary school! Before you start thinking of the wonderful Japanese places that we would be going to, we are actually going to ... Botanical Gardens! WTF....will you believe this?! Somemore we're going at this weird timing at 6PM to recite haikus there while taking a walk. 6PM?! Helloooo, that's when the mosquitoes are out la...Man, I'm so going to try getting out of this....Hee
